Support DISD Children on May 6
Friends & Neighbors,
Just a few weeks after filing to run for this District 2 seat, I saw a quote by Mark Pierce that said, “I still believe public education is the greatest gift this country has." This is something that has resonated with me every step of this race.
As your Dallas ISD District 2 Trustee, I will work my hardest to make our local public education system stronger. I will work to ensure:
Your tax dollars fund public education and not private or charter schools.
The best teachers and administrators are retained at the helm of our children's classrooms.
Early-Childhood Education programs are expanded so that our youngest children are kindergarten ready.
The Community School system is implemented in schools that are struggling.
I will be the first to admit that I do not have political experience; however, what I do have and am very proud of is a career in healthcare and leadership that demonstrates my commitment to helping others and making our community stronger. I am prepared to continue that work as the Dallas ISD District 2 Trustee. I will work consistently to put our children's best interests at the forefront of Board decisions and will be a voice for all children and families throughout our District every day that I am Trustee. Throughout this campaign, my opponent and his team have been focused on false attacks on me personally, but are not being honest about his record over the past nine months as the District 2 Trustee. This is concerning as so many parents and community members are truly working to improve our public education system for our children, and why I have worked hard to ensure our community understands the questions that remain about his record and motivations before they vote. I hope that tomorrow I can count on your support and your vote. With last year's District 2 run-off won by only 42 votes, I will need your support – but more importantly, Dallas ISD children need your support tomorrow. Together, I know we can strengthen our community's school system. Sincerely, Lori Kirkpatrick DISD District 2 Trustee Candidate P.S. If you voted during Early Voting, you can still support our campaign by volunteering tomorrow!
