Charter Partnerships - Contracts Revisited

The DISD Board approved pre-K charter partnerships in February of this year. However, the Texas Education Agency (TEA) is requiring amendments to the contracts, and these amendments require Board approval. It looked as though these contracts would be amended without discussion since at least two trustees must request to have an item pulled from the consent agenda for a separate discussion and vote. Trustee Foreman was joined yesterday by Trustees Johnson and Mackey, thus the charter partnership contracts will be discussed at the Board meeting this Thursday, June 27, 2019 at 6:00 pm. What Does STAAR Really Measure?

Recently the Dallas ISD Administration presented to the Board of Trustees a table of accomplishments from the STAAR results and several Trustees took to social media to promote the same. That same week I sat at my daughter's elementary school where the Executive Director presented our STAAR accomplishments. Though the state configures the data in a way that Approaches includes Meets and Masters, and Meets includes Masters data, I prefer it separated and present it as such in the second chart.
